Biography
Mercedes has performed in a variety of ensembles, merging in all sort of different styles, like Salsa, Pop/R&B, and Soul. On the other hand, Mercedes' love for R&B, hip-hop, and electronic music is portrayed in her compositions. Finally, Mercedes Gala's blending of American emerging styles like R&B with Spanish lyrics, is what identifies her music.
Mercedes is a singer-songwriter and music producer from Tijuana, Mexico. She started her studies at a very early age with classical piano, and as her musical development intensified, she fell in love with singing. She took classical singing lessons during her teenage years and was a vocal major at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts in California. After high school, she furthered her musical studies in Cuba and Dominican Republic, and later she studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree.
